Do you get excited about helping Project Managers and their teams excel on their assignments? Does working on a wide variety of planning, design, and construction projects on some of the most important California Water projects sound interesting to you? The HDR Northern California Water Business Group is looking for a Project Delivery Leader to join our leadership team and help us develop and support our great project teams and clients. If you are a strong and experienced Project Manager and would like to help lead an amazing water program, this role may be for you! In the role of Project Delivery Leader, you will serve as part of the NorCal Water Business Group Leadership team, help oversee project delivery, develop Project Management skills, assist the Business Group Manager in tracking project financials, assist other Project Managers with staffing and quality issues. Responsibilities will include:
- Project management skills development
- Project management team organization and leadership
- Project reviews, delivery oversight, financials, schedule, quality, and project staffing
- Coordinates with Area Market Sector Leader on technical staff assigned to projects
- Possible MOA responsibilities delegated from BGM
- Workshare management
- Streamline Area project management processes (remove barriers to execution)
- Serve as a Champion for cross business group pursuits and initiatives
- Technical delivery program development participation
- Serve as a PIC, Project Sponsor, Client Manager for select projects and clients
- Technical learning path development and mentoring
- Coordinate staffing with Area market sector / business class / Professional Services Leaders
- Recruiting
Additional activities may include:
- Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects, involving a large project staff
- Manage and coordinate several projects concurrently
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
- Work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and Department Manager for project reviews
- Implement QA/QC procedures
- Execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans
- Supervise staff and act as mentor for Project Managers
- Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 10 years related experience
- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software
- Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
