Your responsibilities
Job Summary The Senior Account Manager - SteelBuy is a senior, quota-carrying sales professional responsible for driving revenue and transaction volume on the SteelBuy marketplace. This role focuses on originating, negotiating, and executing steel transactions while expanding adoption of SteelBuy's digital marketplace across buyers and sellers.
This position is ideal for an experienced metals sales professional who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable operating at the intersection of traditional steel trading and modern, digital workflows. The Senior Account Manager will act as a trusted commercial partner to customers while serving as a critical feedback loop to SteelBuy's product, pricing, and leadership teams as platform scales. Key Responsibilities

  • Originate, negotiate, and execute steel transactions across the SteelBuy marketplace while carrying an individual revenue and volume quota
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of buyers and sellers, driving consistent transaction flow and repeat usage
  • Expand marketplace liquidity by onboarding new customers and deepening relationships with existing accounts
  • Drive customer adoption of SteelBuy's digital tools, workflows, and pricing intelligence-without disrupting existing ERP or buying/selling processes
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them source incremental supply, monetize excess inventory, and improve speed and fill rates
  • Maintain strong relationships across service centers, manufacturers, distributors, mills, and trading partners
  • Provide real-time market intelligence and customer feedback to product, pricing, and leadership teams
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (trading, operations, credit, and product) to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of sales experience in steel, metals, or industrial commodities
  • Proven success as a quota-carrying sales professional with a track record of closing complex transactions
  • Strong understanding of steel products, pricing dynamics, and supply chain flows
  • Experience selling to service centers, manufacturers, distributors, or trading organizations
  • Ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously while maintaining high commercial standards
  • CRM experience preferred (Salesforce or similar)
