Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

As Manager, Visual Merchandising & In-Store Communication (ISC), you will be responsible for the execution and implementation of Visual Merchandising (VM) and ISC strategies across wholesale partner doors. Reporting to the Senior Manager, WHS Marketing VM & ISC, this role ensures that store execution aligns with brand standards, supporting product storytelling, consumer engagement, and sell-through at the point of sale.

You will work closely with field teams, retail partners, and vendors to ensure seamless execution, conduct store audits, and adapt global directives to varied store environments. Additionally, you will play a role in seasonal launches, store refreshes, and ISC activations, ensuring they are executed on time and with excellence.

Key Responsibilities:


Execution of VM & ISC Strategy

  • Execute and oversee the implementation of seasonal VM & ISC directives, ensuring alignment with global and regional brand guidelines.
  • Adapt brand directives to different store layouts, fixture configurations, and wholesale partner requirements for consistent execution.
  • Lead seasonal transitions, product launches, and in-store activations, ensuring they align with commercial objectives and maximize consumer engagement.
  • Ensure timely updates and refreshes of ISC materials, ensuring key product stories are visually communicated at the point of sale.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager, WHS Marketing VM & ISC to execute directives efficiently and provide real-time execution insights for future refinements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure in-store execution aligns with broader business and marketing priorities.
  • Pilot new VM & ISC strategies in key wholesale accounts before full-scale implementation, gathering insights to optimize execution.


Retail Experience & Consumer Engagement

  • Execute consumer navigation and wayfinding principles, ensuring ISC supports an intuitive and seamless shopping journey.
  • Ensure strategic placement of signage, mannequins, and fixtures to drive brand visibility and product storytelling.
  • Implement mannequin styling strategies that align with seasonal trends, consumer insights, and product focus areas to enhance sell-through.
  • Support in-store activations and key product storytelling moments, ensuring high-impact brand presence in wholesale doors.
  • Adapt global VM concepts to fit specific wholesale partner environments while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Work with retail partners to troubleshoot execution challenges and improve VM consistency across different locations.


Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage third-party vendors, installation teams, and agencies, ensuring on-time and high-quality execution of VM & ISC installations.
  • Oversee the production, delivery, and placement of all visual merchandising assets in wholesale partner stores.
  • Partner with retail teams and field teams to ensure in-store execution aligns with brand standards and retailer requirements.
  • Conduct quality audits and store visits to assess executional excellence and compliance with brand directives.


Reporting, Data-Driven Insights & Training

  • Track and analyze execution performance metrics, including compliance rates, consumer engagement, and sell-through impact.
  • Provide real-time field insights and feedback to improve future VM & ISC strategy development.
  • Use retail analytics and shopper behavior insights to refine store layouts, fixture placements, and ISC visibility.
  • Deliver training and coaching for retail associates, store teams, and field partners, ensuring consistency in VM execution.
  • Develop and distribute VM & ISC playbooks for retail partners, outlining best practices for visual execution and brand storytelling.
  • Stay informed of market trends and competitive retail strategies, integrating relevant insights into executional improvements.

  • Retail Concepts & Store Development - Support the installation of fixtures, mannequins, and in-store signage.
  • Wholesale Account Teams - Ensure VM & ISC strategies meet specific retail partner needs.
  • External Vendors & Installation Teams - Manage execution partners to deliver projects on time and in full.
  • Marketplace Merchandising & Planning - Align with product placement and store presentation objectives.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong expertise in visual merchandising and in-store communication, with a focus on executional excellence.
  • Ability to adapt global VM & ISC strategies for different store formats, retailer guidelines, and consumer shopping behaviors.
  • Knowledge of mannequin styling, product storytelling, and consumer engagement techniques to enhance in-store experiences.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple store executions simultaneously.
  • Experience with digital integration in VM & ISC, including interactive displays, QR codes, and omnichannel execution.
  • Ability to analyze data and consumer insights to drive VM strategy improvements and increase retail conversion rates.
  • Proficiency in visual merchandising software such as Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, or other digital planning tools.


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in Visual Merchandising, In-Store Communication, or Retail Marketing.
  • Experience in managing retail execution across multiple locations in a wholesale or fashion retail environment.
  • Prior experience working with wholesale retail partners, field teams, or external vendors is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% as needed for store visits and execution oversight.

  • At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Portland OR.
