Job Description

CSI Aerospace, Inc., a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation specializes in the repair of air data probes and aircraft accessories. Our mission is to be the best provider of niche products and repairs to the aerospace industry.



CSI Aerospace, Inc., is seeking a Production Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for early-career engineers or engineering technicians who are passionate about process improvement and hands-on problem solving in a production environment. The Production Engineer will work closely with operations, engineering and quality to develop and improve manufacturing processes and tools. The Production Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and receive day to day guidance and mentorship from a Senior Production Engineer.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:



  • Support production by investigating issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions
  • Assist in developing and refining manufacturing processes, work instructions, and tooling
  • Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and 3D prints of tools and prototypes.
  • Create and Update manufacturing process drawings and documentation
  • Assist with the identification, procurement, installation and use of production equipment
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data from product testing and examination
  • Manage assigned projects to schedule
  • Comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

Education:



  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in engineering or engineering technology. Recent or soon-to-be graduates with relevant experience may be considered for co-op/intern-to-hire placement.


Experience:



  • Reading and interpreting drawings and technical specifications
  • Drafting, 3D modeling, or designing machinery, tools, and/or shop aids
  • Writing detailed work instructions and technical manuals
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes such as welding, brazing, machining, and assembly
  • Support role experience in a production or manufacturing business is a plus


Knowledge or Abilities:



  • Intermediate 3D CAD modeling and 2D Drafting experience - Solidworks preferred
  • Familiar with use of hand tools, precision measurement tools, electrical multimeters, and other tools common to production and manufacturing
  • Some exposure to additive manufacturing / 3D Printing
  • Fabrication skills are a plus
  • Competent with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Technical writing skills
  • Good process analysis, improvement and control skills
  • Willingness to be hands on and maintain a high level of shop floor presence
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.



Physical Demands:



While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The Team Member may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.



Work Environment:


While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member will be exposed to high temperature torch brazing equipment. The noise level in the production environment is usually moderate.
