Description

Acara Solutions is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our client, a development company in Williamsville, NY.

Salary: $72,000-90,000K, DOE

This role will support their Construction Project Managers and senior leadership in the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects. This role is structured to grow into a Project Manager position, with increasing responsibility for schedule, cost, and contractor oversight on complex projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Director of Development and Construction Project Managers with day-to-day oversight of active construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Support large, schedule-driven, process-heavy client programs (e.g., national logistics, fulfillment, or industrial developments) with strict reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Support project scheduling, coordination, and tracking.
  • Assist with review and tracking of construction contracts, change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Administer and manage monthly pay applications, including detailed cost tracking, lien waiver review, and reconciliation against budgets.
  • Participate in project meetings.
  • Support cost control efforts including invoice review, budget tracking, variance analysis, and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and municipal agencies.
  • Assist with site visits and field documentation.
  • Support reporting functions and permitting coordination
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 2-5+ years of commercial construction or assistant PM experience.
  • Strong aptitude for numbers, budgets, and financial reporting; comfort working closely with accounting and finance teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, submittal processes, pay applications, and reporting compliance.
  • Knowledge of construction documents and processes.
  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Sage, Aconex, Buildertrend, AutoDesk Construction Cloud) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
