Senior Advisor, Clinical Quality Management & Performance Improvement

Collaborates with leadership and team members to ensure systematic and coordinated quality management/ performance improvement and safety for the quality management programs across the organization. Participates in the development and successful deployment of plans based on organizational priorities that support and align with the strategic plan, mission, vision and goals.

Job Responsibility

• Provides strategic advice and guidance to inform system level strategies regarding clinical quality management and performance improvement.
• Oversees the development, deployment, and evaluation of performance design and improvement cycles of the quality management/performance improvement/safety programs.
• Ensures the use of appropriate quality/performance improvement methodologies and relevant tools based on required outcomes or deliverables. Utilizes appropriate analytical tools and statistical processes to evaluate results.
• Oversees effective analysis of performance data with comparison over time and comparisons to internal and external benchmarks to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with the leadership to perform focused studies on diagnosis, procedures, and/or various performance measures based on pre-determined criteria.
• Ensures plans and designs are consistent with internal and external expectations for accreditation, regulatory compliance, and public reporting as applicable. Participates in continuous survey readiness activities.
• Functions as a key point of contact/facilitator for collaborative performance improvement work.
• Demonstrates expertise in Cause Analysis and development of appropriate risk reduction strategies.
• Supports patient safety through active participation in the identification of actual or potential patient safety issues. Uses strategies, tools, and methods that support patient safety.
• Develops and conducts necessary education and training for teams related to quality, performance improvement and patient safety.

Job Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in a related field required.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• Certification in quality or safety and/or a fellowship in patient safety, preferred.
• Seven (7) to ten (10) years experience including quality/ safety management experience, required.
