Enrolled Agent (Tax Resolution Specialist) About Us Tax Resolution is a trusted leader in tax relief services, helping individuals and businesses resolve complex IRS and state tax issues. We are seeking a skilled Enrolled Agent (EA) to join our growing team and support clients through the tax resolution process. Position Overview The Enrolled Agent will represent clients before the IRS and state agencies, develop tax resolution strategies, prepare necessary filings, and collaborate closely with case workers. This role requires strong technical tax knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping clients achieve financial relief. Key Responsibilities Tax Representation & Strategy * Represent clients before the IRS and state tax agencies in audits, collections, and appeals. * Review client financials, tax transcripts, and supporting documentation to determine eligibility for resolution programs. * Develop customized tax resolution strategies such as: * Installment Agreements * Offers in Compromise * Penalty Abatement * Currently Not Collectible (CNC) status * Innocent Spouse Relief * Levy/Lien releases Tax Preparation & Compliance * Prepare and file individual and business tax returns when required for case compliance. * Ensure clients meet all IRS requirements, including filing missing returns and staying current. * Review financial statements to confirm accuracy and completeness for submission. Collaboration & Case Oversight * Work closely with Case Workers to ensure client communication is consistent and accurate. * Provide guidance on proper documentation, required financials, and case progress. * Maintain detailed notes and ensure proper documentation in the case management system. Client Support & Communication * Explain IRS procedures, tax laws, and case expectations in a clear, reassuring manner. * Communicate case updates and answer client questions throughout the resolution process. * Advocate strongly on behalf of clients to achieve the best possible outcome. Qualifications Required * Active Enrolled Agent (EA) license in good standing. * Strong understanding of IRS collections procedures, tax law, and resolution programs. Preferred * 2+ years of experience in tax resolution, tax preparation, or IRS representation. * Experience working within a tax relief firm or similar environment. * Familiarity with IRS transcripts, financial analysis, and negotiation with tax authorities. Skills & Competencies * Excellent communication and client management abilities. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data. * Attention to detail and strong organizational habits. * Ability to manage multiple cases while meeting deadlines. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax software (training provided if needed).
