| Essential Job Duties |
The NC State University Poole College of Management seeks an
Associate Director of Student Programs and Career Services for its Master of Accounting (
MAC) Program. Established in 1994, the
MAC Program prepares students for successful professional careers in accounting and business within an increasingly competitive global marketplace. Since its inception, the program has grown from approximately 60 students to an incoming class of more than 200 students annually. The Associate Director provides leadership and support across four primary functional areas: career services, student organization instruction, program celebrations, and general program support.
1. Career Services (Approximately 55%)
The Associate Director serves as the lead staff member for employment-related activities for
MAC students and plays a central role in employer engagement and student career development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing strategies, in collaboration with Poole College of Management Career Services leadership, to build and strengthen relationships with employers of MAC graduates.
- Serving as the primary liaison for employers seeking to recruit MAC students and graduates.
- Building relationships with Poole College alumni to generate internship and full-time employment opportunities.
- Planning and executing recruiting events, including Tour of Cities, Meet the Firms, and Corporate and Governmental Accounting Day.
- Serving as a point of contact for students and employers regarding resume management software.
- Advising MAC students and senior internship candidates on the recruitment process, including job search strategies.
- Responding to inquiries from current and prospective employers.
- Coordinating with the MAC Assistant Director of Admissions and University Career Services to ensure smooth execution of on-campus interviews.
- Identifying and recruiting candidates for the MAC Fellowship Program and undergraduate internship programs.
- Planning and administering MAC Fellowship Program campus interviews.
- Providing individualized career coaching, including personal assessments, resume reviews, self-marketing strategies, and mock interviews.
- Administering the semester-long MAC Program-Sponsored Accounting Intern Recruitment (AIR) Program.
- Collecting and maintaining job placement and outcomes data for AACSB accreditation and other assessment reporting.
2. MAC Organization Instruction (Approximately 25%)
Responsibilities related to student engagement and leadership development include:
- Advising and overseeing the MAC student organization, including attendance at monthly meetings.
- Overseeing planning and execution of the MAC Graduation Celebration.
- Supervising MAC organization-sponsored social and service activities.
- Verifying and tracking service hours for graduating students.
3. MAC Celebration (Approximately 15%)
- Overseeing planning and execution of the annual MAC Celebration event.

| Other Responsibilities |
Other Duties (Approximately 5%)
- Supporting MAC program activities such as orientation, graduation, and lifelong learning events.
- Participating in weekly MAC staff meetings.
- Organizing semi-annual MAC Advisory Board meetings.
- Devoted to service and engagement activities within the university as well as extension and engagement activities outside the university.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Require post-baccalaureate credential or A four-year degree, preferably in business or a related field along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in career services, corporate recruiting, human resources, marketing and/or a related field.

| Other Required Qualifications |
- Experience in MAC career services at another university or experience in recruiting MACs for public accounting. Strong communication, both oral and written, coaching and mentoring skills are critical to this position. Individuals need to be effective presenters of information and must be able to work in a team environment and take initiative.
- Experience in working with basic software, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access is expected.
- Individuals will be expected to travel and work evening hours when necessary.
