Job Description

RRD is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our team this Summer in Logan, UT!

**THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION**

Position Objective: To support the Business Communication Services (BCS) Production Support Team by providing day to day monitoring and support for applications, email alerts, incident tickets and change management.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and escalate incidents appropriately by following established support workflows.

Responsibilities

Technical Support:

  • Understand the various business applications from both technical and functional perspectives and provide the necessary support to troubleshoot issues relating to server-based applications.
  • Research and resolve routine to moderately complex programming issues.
  • Serves as a technical resource to customers and works in collaboration with engineers, programmers, client interaction and other senior staff as needed to provide effective user support and issue resolution.
  • Provides support for the various print facility requests and issues.
  • Coordinates activities with App Dev and IT groups during critical incident management processes.
  • Handles routine tasks based on scheduled activities such as maintenance, monthly and weekly activity and processing.
  • Works on ServiceNow incident tickets assigned to Production Support based on priority. Resolve support tickets within the limits of contractual service level agreements.
  • Perform change review and deployments depending on client requirements.
  • Participates in process improvement activities.

Documentation:

  • Create and assist in preparing detailed internal program documentation for new developments and revisions.

Communication:

  • Identifies defects and works with developers and programming teams on resolutions.
  • Conveys problems, solutions, updates, and project status to peers, customers, and management.
  • Participate in IT team meetings, providing input and suggestions.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

    Qualifications
    • The intern candidate should be a full-time student at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor or higher degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering.
    • Basic exposure, or related coursework in the use of Perl/Python scripting as this would be an added advantage.
    • Working knowledge of navigating Unix/Linux(commands) operating systems, application troubleshooting and familiarity working in a Windows Server (IIS, Services) environment is also helpful.
    • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to understand general business concepts and apply them when communicating with diverse groups of people.
    • Positive attitude and outstanding customer service.
    • Accuracy, attention to detail and results oriented.

    Additional Information

    The rate of pay for this role at the noted location is $24.00 / hour. In addition to base pay, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
