Job Description

PURPOSE: The feeder packer will rotate in the print area feeding, packing and stacking the product meeting all quality standards for customer orders. In performing these responsibilities, employees are to work safely, efficiently and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area
  • Assists in housekeeping when the print operation is down for change over, allowing for a safe work area
  • Inspects containers for quality defects before printing and after printing, have the ability to stop the press or equipment when a malfunction occurs
  • Follows Plant and Department safe practices including bending, lifting and housekeeping
  • Signs or initials each proper tray pack label for shipping
  • Works with the Lead Printer to understand the customer order; type of product to be printed on, quantity of printed product and the quality criteria of the print to be placed on each piece
  • Understands the stack and quantity per tray, the direction of the product stack on the tray: openings up or down, handles turned in and proper labeling
  • Knows how to properly place container onto the mandrel to avoid damaging the product or equipment
  • Does not allow containers to back up in the dryer
  • Staff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities;
  • Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; and
  • Staff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
  • Performs other duties/tasks may be assigned.

EDUCATIONAL, SKILL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school education or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to keep-up with the fast-paced production cycles.
  • Position requires agility and consistent attention to detail
  • Able to tolerate constant repetition.
  • Some workstations may require sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely
  • Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holiday and over-time
