Job Description:

Pacific Life is investing in bright, agile, and diverse earlycareer talent to fuel innovation and deliver a superior customer experience. The AVP, Global Early Careers Programs will design, lead, and scale the company's global early- and midcareer talent ecosystem, with a strong and differentiated emphasis on crosscountry rotational experiences.

This role owns the global strategy and execution for campus recruiting, university relations, internships and coops, earlycareer and midcareer rotational programs, and the global framework that enables talent to gain meaningful experiences across countries, cultures, and business lines. The AVP will partner closely with senior business leaders, HRBPs, Talent Management, and Workforce Planning to build a sustainable, futureready global talent pipeline.

This position can be based in Newport Beach, CA or Charlotte, NC. This position is onsite four days a week.

How you will make an impact:

Global Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute a global early career strategy aligned to longterm workforce, leadership, and skill needs.
  • Partner with Strategic Workforce Planning, HRBPs, and the Talent Management COE to anticipate future capabilities and build scalable earlycareer pipelines.
  • Position earlycareer and rotational programs as a core contributor to leadership development and internal mobility.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives on earlycareer talent trends, market dynamics, and global best practices.

Signature Global Rotational Programs (Early & MidCareer)

  • Design and govern global rotational programs that intentionallycould include crosscountry assignments, enabling participants to gain cultural fluency, global business perspective, and accelerated development.
  • Define rotational program architecture, including:
    • Eligibility and selection criteria
    • Rotation length, sequence, and timing
    • Individual expectations and learning outcomes
    • Placement and matching processes
  • Manage the full lifecycle of rotations, including selection, onboarding, country placement, inrotation support, assessments, and postprogram placement.
  • Ensure alignment between rotational experiences, job architecture, and longterm career paths.

Campus Recruiting & University Relations (Global)

  • Lead a globally consistent yet locally relevant campus recruiting strategy across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
  • Build and sustain longterm partnerships with priority universities, professional associations, and diversityfocused institutions.
  • Oversee employer branding, candidate experience, hiring outcomes, and offer conversion for all earlycareer hiring.
  • Ensure internships and coop programs serve as strong feeders into fulltime and rotational roles.

Development, Curriculum & Manager Enablement

  • Partner with Talent Management to define core development curriculum for all earlycareer and rotational programs.
  • Establish programspecific learning tied to rotational objectives, including leadership, technical, and global capability development.
  • Clearly define roles and expectations for rotation managers.
  • Deliver training and toolkits for rotation managers focused on coaching, feedback, assessment, and inclusive leadership.
  • Build mentorship and sponsorship structures to support participant success and longterm retention.

Program Analytics & Governance

  • Define and track program KPIs, including hiring outcomes, rotation effectiveness, development progress, participant and manager experience, and retention.
  • Lead program governance forums with business stakeholders and steering committees.
  • Use datadriven insights to continuously improve program design, scalability, and impact.

External Representation & Community Engagement

  • Represent Pacific Life externally with universities, industry groups, and earlycareer communities.
  • Partner with Public Affairs and community organizations to align earlycareer programs with broader community engagement and outreach efforts.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a global earlycareers and mobility team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Build organizational capabilities that enable sustainable global program growth.

The experience you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in HR, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in earlycareer recruiting, talent acquisition, talent management, or leadership development.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading global teams and programs in a matrixed organization.
  • Proven experience designing, launching, and governing global rotational programs, including crosscountry rotations.
  • Deep expertise in campus recruiting, university relations, and internshiptofulltime conversion.
  • Understanding of global mobility, compensation frameworks, and regulatory considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and operate effectively across regions and cultures.

Salary Range

$187,000 - $240,000

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
