Genesis10 is currently seeking an IT Project Manager with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Manage infrastructure design and delivery efforts for the Global Information Security portfolio
- Project in this book of work span from deploying infrastructure to host lower tier applications providing reporting capabilities to highly available applications requiring multi-datacenter deployments and traffic management
- End-to-end management and go-live events of projects of high rigor and high complexity in a fast-paced environment
- Manage, lead, and direct the work efforts of technical resources functionally aligned to the programs and projects
- Project will span the design and delivery of lower tier applications providing reporting capabilities to the highest tier applications providing high availability enterprise-wide, third party, corporate and customer information protection and identity authentication functions
- Utilize the Agile Scrum skills as well as Agile Jira tools as part of the day-to-day management to drive out the project deliverables and hold project resources accountable to agreed-to delivery dates
- Average project load is 5-6 medium to high complexity projects
- Act as the project's primary point of contact
- Obtain and align resources to key project roles
- Establish clearly defined responsibilities and accountabilities
- Lead the daily meetings consisting of the project team and partners
- Remove delivery impediments, and is keenly focused on the activities and progress of the service delivery team
- Lead project execution, integration and implementation
- Ensure that all applicable change requirements are satisfied
- Define project milestones and socialize to business partners
- Ensure milestone dates are met by driving execution of tasks
- Hold resources accountable to agreed-to task completion dates
- Engage technical resources and define their scope of work
- Risk management and mitigation planning
- Ensure change management process adherence
- Quality assurance ensuring that all tasks are completed as specified
- Provide timely and routine updates in Jira in regard to project status, accomplishments and next steps
- Escalate project risks and issues to the portfolio delivery manager and service delivery manager
- Establish and maintain relationships with technical partners
- Presentation to senior management
- Manage project go-live events
- Readiness, change adoption, stakeholder management
- Prepare and present information and data to senior leaders
- Manage matrix resources
Requirements:
- Educational background and experience in project management or business management or associated area
- 10 + years of experience
- Strong technical project management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Scrum and Jira
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks
- Experience of large-scale complex projects
- Knowledge of infrastructure technologies (physical server hosting, virtual machine hosting, storage, network, database, middleware, network traffic management, Network DMZ)
- MS Project, MS Excel and MS Power Point
- Ability to work with others and manage disparate teams globally
- Ability to manage the successful execution of technical solutions whether by a single team or multiple teams
- Proven track record in a similar role
- Solid interpersonal skills; positive attitude; team player; flexible
- Able to proactively engage business and technology leaders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to lead meetings, follow-up, negotiate and resolve ambiguity
- Keen attention to detail and strong sense of ownership and accountability for work
