Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and licensed HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment across commercial and industrial settings. The technician will ensure optimal operation of HVAC systems, troubleshoot complex issues using schematics and HVAC design principles, and perform equipment repairs with precision. A strong background in construction, property maintenance, appliance repair, boiler systems, welding, and mechanical knowledge is essential. Valid driver's license is required for field service operations. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring technical expertise and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and related mechanical equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC/R equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex system issues.
  • Conduct plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems as needed.
  • Repair and maintain refrigeration units, including ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting and equipment diagnostics.
  • Perform welding and mechanical repairs on various components of HVAC systems.
  • Install new HVAC equipment following safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain detailed service records of all work performed for compliance and future reference.
  • Assist in property maintenance tasks related to HVAC infrastructure as required.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Valid HVAC license or certification required; relevant experience in service technician roles preferred.
  • Proven experience with HVAC/R systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, boiler operation, and appliance repair.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and HVAC design plans.
  • Experience in construction or property maintenance is a plus.
  • Knowledge of field service procedures with the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues effectively.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; welding skills are advantageous.
  • Mechanical experience in equipment repair and maintenance is essential.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments.
  • Valid driver's license is required for field service assignments; experience with commercial vehicle operation preferred.
