What we're looking for:

Dover Food Retail (DFR) has an exciting career opportunity for a Director, Advance Manufacturing Engineering & Technology. This critical role is an integral part of the DFR Operations Leadership Team. DFR is the leading manufacturer of Display Cases, Specialty Products, Refrigeration Systems, Power Systems and Comprehensive Services under brands such as HillPhoenix and Anthony.

Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role will lead and coordinate Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering for the universe of DFR sites. This role will serve as a new product introduction (NPI) lead for technology and processes and will serve as the subject matter expert to lead global manufacturing strategies for the global business, to drive best in class manufacturing engineering processes and performance. A key deliverable is standardization and best in class cost.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:

  • Lead the Advanced Manufacturing team across DFR

    equipment strategy adherence, and manage utilization impact. Manages capital budget for enterprise related

    development of Manufacturing 4. 0 vision, tactics and implementation across the

  • Coordinates
    support of PDP programs in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
    feasibility review with Product Engineering in order to ensure our new products
    take advantage of the latest in manufacturing processes and to ensure our new
    products are designed for optimum manufacturability
  • Defines
    equipment standards and controls (plants responsible for monitoring and
    controls maintenance)
  • Develops
    and executes a manufacturing maturity assessment process to drive standardization
  • Directs
    the implementation of equipment Best Practices across manufacturing globally
  • Aligns
    on the top priorities of the PBU value stream, GISC, with the rest of the PBU
    functional leaders and with the global functional leader and ensures the corresponding
    AME actions are implemented to achieve the team s goals.
  • Supports
    plant Engineering Managers and staff; provides input into and supports delivery
    of performance reviews and development

  • Directs
    the assignment, training and accountability of JCMS Buildings SME s. This includes coaching, 2nd party
    assessments, acceleration events and other roles and responsibilities as

    AME/ME team in developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships
    with internal or external customers, driving improved customer service and
    problem solving in coordination with the corresponding PBU Operations

    Quality leaders (and the rest of the manufacturing Quality Leadership Team as
    applicable)
  • Supports
    the selection, hiring and training of AME/ME's and leaders in the PBU and may
    globally support in assigned process area

    safe working conditions and practices during plant visits
  • Develops
    self through continued training and exposure to equipment and manufacturing
    best practices with internal SME's and & external contacts such as OEM's,
    tradeshows and/or seminars.What we look for
  • Bachelor s degree in
    Engineering with focus in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing
    Engineering required with a minimum of 10 years experience. Masters in Business preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft

    Internet software and E-mail is required.

What are the basic qualifications?

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering; master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of progressively applied operational site leadership, with experience in a complex manufacturing operating environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, One Pc Flow, Kit, Batch and manufacturing techniques with proven deployment. Certification is preferred
  • Ability to use and interpret CAD data files with engineering & tooling suppliers globally
