Responsibilities

Credit Regulatory & Controls Manager is a senior enterprise leadership position responsible for comprehensive management of all regulatory engagements related to Credit, as well as oversight of Credit Risk Controls. This role ensures alignment with regulatory standards, safeguards organizational integrity, and maintains consistency in credit decision-making, processes, and delivery across the First Line Credit function.

The Credit Regulatory & Controls Manager operates as a proactive and strategic partner to executive leadership, guiding outcomes through effective challenges, collaboration, and thought leadership. The main responsibilities include acting as the principal First Line credit representative to regulatory agencies-overseeing examinations and addressing findings-and serving as Credit's First Line Business Risk Leader by evaluating remediation efforts and assessing the effectiveness of business controls through the design, execution, testing, and supervision of first line credit activities. The core objectives focus on implementing a unified, forward-looking risk control framework that harmonizes regulatory requirements with business goals and customer experience, while enhancing governance, transparency, and sustainable risk management practices

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $165,100 per year plus bonus. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate's relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.

Key Accountabilities

Enterprise Regulatory Leadership

    Own the enterprisewide strategy and execution for creditrelated regulatory oversight, serving as the primary executive point of accountability for internal and external examinations, reviews, and inquiries.
  • Over time this leader will build a team of professionals to further support the business and partner in the establishment of strong credit risk function.
  • Establish and maintain strong, credible relationships with regulators, internal audit, and second and thirdline partners, ensuring transparency, consistency, and confidence in the organization's credit risk management framework.
  • Proactively identify emerging regulatory expectations and industry trends, anticipating impacts and guiding leadership on implications to credit risk, governance, and controls.

Enhancement of Governance Framework

  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance regulatory framework as size and scale of the Bank increases. Aligns Credit Team with enterprise risk standards, and leading practices.
  • Ensure clear governance, roles, escalation paths, and accountability across credit decisioning and delivery processes.
  • Drive sustainable remediation strategies and ensure timely, effective resolution of regulatory findings, issues, and actions.

Credit Risk Control Ownership

  • Serve as executive owner of Credit Risk Controls, ensuring effective design, execution, testing, and oversight.
  • Validate that credit decisioning and delivery processes operate within approved risk appetite and policy standards while supporting sound customer and business outcomes.
  • Partner with business and risk leadership to assess control effectiveness, challenge identified gaps and prioritize enhancements based on risk and materiality.

Executive Partnership & Influence

  • Act as a trusted advisor and constructive challenger to executive leadership, influencing strategic decisions related to credit risk, controls, and regulatory posture.
  • Balance regulatory soundness with business needs by shaping pragmatic, forwardlooking solutions that enable growth while protecting the enterprise.
  • Elevate credit risk and control discussions to an executive and, where applicable, boardlevel audience.

Strategic Risk & Change Management

  • Integrate regulatory and risk considerations into major credit initiatives, transformations, product launches, and policy changes.
  • Provide executive oversight for change programs impacting credit risk controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and enterprise standards.
  • Champion automation, data integrity, and process simplification to strengthen control effectiveness and sustainability.

  • Foster a strong risk and control culture, reinforcing individual accountability and ownership across the credit organization.
  • Lead, develop, and retain senior risk talent capable of operating effectively in a highly regulated, executivefacing environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and 8 years of relatable credit experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of laws, regulations, and regulatory trends that impact the financial services industry.
  • Understanding of risk and control environments.
  • Knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent sound risk judgment and provide advisory guidance regarding heightenedstandards expectations.

    Timely and accurate coordination of regulatory exams and audits; reduction in the number and severity of MRAs.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation Effectiveness
    Number of proactively identified risks, escalation quality, and implementation of mitigation strategies aligned with regulatory expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory Impact
    Feedback from internal stakeholders and number of successful crossfunctional initiatives or policy enhancements influenced.
