Position Summary The Staff Therapist I position involves direct service to UIC students (brief counseling/psychotherapy, group therapy, and outreach programming), consultation and liaison to faculty/staff/students, and the participation in supervision and training of Counseling Center postdocs, interns, and externs. This position will have important liaison responsibilities in service of our Black, African-American, Latine, Asian, international, and other underrepresented UIC students and campus communities. This involves continuing and expanding the work of: 1) fostering connections for students to mental health services and supports, 2) creating new spaces and programs that support mental health and well-being, and 3) assisting with training and education on mental health topics. The Counseling Center is a unit of the Office of Student Health and Wellbeing which includes Campus Recreation, the Wellness Center, and Public Health Initiatives.
