| Position Highlights |
Under general supervision of the Fellowship Program Directors and Medical Student Faculty Sponsors, the Medical Education Program Professional II will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Neurosurgery Fellowship Programs (Non-GME accredited) and Medical Student Year 4 (MS4) rotations/evaluations. Additionally, this position will be responsible for designing a year-3 MS3 elective rotation and aiding the day to day running of the Neurosurgery Student Interest Group (NSIG). There is a research component to the NSIG and we expect 0.2 FTE of this role to be spent facilitating clinical research. This position will additionally be responsible for the Neurosurgery Observership Program, to ensure compliance with onboarding and manage the rotation schedule in tandem with the Chief Resident. | Duties & Responsibilities |
Maintain and manage department fellowship programs - CAST Complex Spine Neurosurgery (non-GME); Pre-Residency General Neurosurgery Fellowship (non-GME), and CAST Functional Neurosurgery (non-GME):
- Ensure CAST accreditation documentation is completed and that the programs meet national requirements.
- Aid in fellow recruitment and Banner onboarding.
- Aid in setting up fellow specific educational events.
- Populate evaluations in New Innovation at the beginning of each academic year.
Support the development of the curriculum for the Neurosurgery elective medical student rotations:
- Coordinate, schedule, and submit grades for elective rotations.
- Aid in letter writing for students who participate.
- Set up evaluations in New Innovations, OASIS and Arizona Med for medical students at the beginning of each academic year and each block.
Coordinate Clerkship elective rotations with outside programs, hospitals, clinics, faculty, and staff:
- Prepare periodic and yearly summary reports.
- Coordinate schedule for all visiting student rotations in VSAS and OASIS.
Provide administrative support to faculty within the department:
- Assist Residency Program Manager with various program tasks.
- Provide office support as needed.
Provide administrative support to Neurosurgery Student Interest Group (NSIG):
- Assist NSIG with needed events.
- Collect documentation for student participation in research or shadowing.
- Aid in database management for clinical research and regulatory documents.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
