Security Officer - Mobile Rounds Patrol

As a Security Officer - Mobile Rounds Patrol in Petersburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech campus, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will engage with employees and visitors using strong customer service and clear communication, document observations, and support a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative. You will bring integrity to every interaction while helping people feel supported.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a technology-focused location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of offices, lobbies, loading and delivery areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for employees, contractors, and vendors; support visitor management and maintain access logs per site requirements.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, report writing, and timely notification to site leadership and/or emergency services as required.
• Perform routine observation of security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, and communications equipment, and document findings and corrective actions according to post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have a minimum of 1+ years of security experience.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
