Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Foreman Pipe/Earthwork/Roadway to oversee daily operations on construction sites. The ideal candidate will lead a team of craft employees, ensure adherence to safety standards, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Specifically, this position will require previous knowledge working on storm/sanitary/sewer pipe, shoring for deep excavations, dewatering, concrete roadway rehabilitation, on-road/off-road excavations, fine grading and subbase operations, etc.

Responsibilities/Functions:



  • Supervise and coordinate activities of construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Work with the Superintendent to schedule work assignments and manage workflow to optimize productivity.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project Superintendents.
  • Enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings with craft employees; explain in detail the work to be accomplished and how it is to be accomplished.
  • Act as OSHA defined "competent person" on job.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to craft employees on proper techniques and safety practices.
  • Resolve/report conflicts and address any issues that arise on the job site.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and labor hours.
  • Submit daily timecards for crew beings supervised.
  • Submit daily diaries and photos of construction progress.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to facilitate project goals.
  • Inspect work performed by subcontractors to ensure conformance with specifications


Essential Skills and Experience:



  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in construction management or related fields preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction industry; experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to utilize GPS survey equipment, pipe grade level and auto level are a plus.
  • Maintenance and protection of traffic experience and certifications are a plus.


Work Environment:



  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vest.


Physical Demands:

  • Extensive moving or positioning heavy weighted materials (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and ascend/descend to reach materials or enter heavy equipment.
