Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Clearance Required in Charlottesville, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading aerospace and defense location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control using badge procedures. You will document observations, respond to reports, and communicate clearly with employees, visitors, and site leadership. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and/or vendors by following Allied Universal protocols, site-specific policies, and access control requirements for an aerospace and defense location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related hazards or policy violations.
  • Monitor entry points, alarms, and/or surveillance systems as assigned, and verify credentials, badges, and/or vehicle authorization in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and/or local responders as directed.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and unusual conditions in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate timely updates to supervision and site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
