POSITION PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to provide Alarm Monitoring and Visitor Control services to the National Defense University (NDU).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Monitor and execute site security checks on critical assets, restricted areas, and communications facilities.
  • Conduct security checks of areas identified as high-value/mission-critical/restricted areas at a minimum every four (4) hours to verify areas are properly secured.
  • Report any suspicious activity or issues to the base police or the appropriate staff.
  • Monitor Lenel Security system equipment for proper operation.
  • Notify Government personnel of any irregularities noted in the Lenel security system.
  • Inventory and Monitor badges.
  • Provide information and assistance to employees, visitors, and guests.
  • Control, issue, and maintain an electronic record of visits.
  • Verify all personnel entering the facilities by ensuring all personnel present a Badge or identification (i.e., Common Access Card (CAC)). Cross-reference it with the Lenel Security.
  • Issue a temporary visitor's badge as required.
  • Closed-circuit TV (CCTV) experience required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience
:


  • High School Diploma Required.
  • 2-3 years security experience.
  • 2-3 years of Closed-Circuit TV (CCTV) experience.


Skills and Abilities
:


  • Must be proficient with all MS Office Suites.
  • Must be proficient with the Lenel System.


Special Requirements
:


  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, Holidays, and weekends 7 days per week as needed. This is a Part-time/On-call position. In most cases, there will be scheduled workdays.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
:

  • 3+ years of experience


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
:


  • Prolonged walking is required in order to complete security checks. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of stairs and walking outdoors when required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:


  • Indoors except during rounds
