Summary

The Processing Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all maintenance activities associated with the processing operations. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing maintenance, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a commitment to ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all processing equipment and systems.

The Processing Maintenance Manager will lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians while ensuring the effective execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. This role is also responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, minimizing equipment downtime, optimizing asset reliability, and ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with production, engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure the processing equipment supports operational performance, product quality, and company goals.

Responsibilities

* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, technical support, and performance feedback to promote a high-performing and collaborative work environment.
* Establish clear expectations, performance goals, and accountability standards for the maintenance team.
* Foster a culture of safety, reliability, ownership, and continuous improvement within the maintenance organization.
* Identify training needs and develop technical training programs to improve team capabilities and support employee career growth.
* Oversee the maintenance, repair, and reliability of processing equipment including motors, pumps, valves, presses, separators, conveyors, heat exchangers, instrumentation, and other production machinery.
* Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently while maintaining optimal production performance and minimizing unplanned downtime.
* Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities to support production schedules while maintaining equipment reliability.
* Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
* Ensure maintenance strategies focus on reducing unplanned downtime, extending asset life, and improving equipment reliability.
* Utilize condition monitoring techniques and data-driven maintenance practices to identify potential failures before they occur.
* Ensure maintenance tasks are executed on schedule and meet defined quality standards.
* Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve equipment failures, process interruptions, and performance issues.
* Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and continuous improvement techniques.
* Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams to implement permanent corrective actions.
* Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
* Conduct routine safety audits and risk assessments within the maintenance areas.
* Promote a proactive safety culture by ensuring all team members follow safe work practices and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all food safety standards relevant to processing operations.
* Develop and manage the processing maintenance budget, including labor, materials, spare parts, and contracted services.
* Monitor maintenance expenditures and implement cost-control measures while maintaining equipment reliability and performance.
* Prepare and justify capital investment proposals for equipment upgrades, replacements, and reliability improvements.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, equipment documentation, and maintenance schedules.
* Ensure proper use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track maintenance performance and asset history.
* Utilize maintenance data and performance metrics to drive reliability improvements and strategic maintenance planning.
* Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, increase equipment uptime, and reduce operating costs.
* Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, operational efficiency, and maintenance best practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment design, process reliability, and operational performance.
* Strictly follow all Chobani safety procedures and policies.
* Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality standards.

Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree preferred in Maintenance Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent education and relevant work experience will also be considered.
* Minimum of 5-7 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment.
* Proven experience managing maintenance operations within a manufacturing or food processing environment.
* Strong knowledge of industrial processing equipment and mechanical systems.
* Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to maintenance management.
* Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other maintenance software tools.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment

The salary range for this full-time position is $95,000.00 - $150,700.00, + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
