Overview
The National Safety Manager is responsible for leading a comprehensive safety strategy across Greyhound's nationwide operations, ensuring safety objectives are met and operational performance is enhanced. They'll work with Operations and Executive leadership to assist in the development, implementation, and execution of the company's safety policies and plans, including compliance reporting, training programs, and analysis and mitigation of incidents. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, drives a proactive safety culture, and reduces operational risk through strong leadership, datadriven decisionmaking, and continuous improvement in alignment with company goals. *Leadership role eligible for annual 10% bonus.*
Responsibilities
Conducts and develops safety reviews, audits, inspections, and testing in the areas of operational safety, work practices, equipment and safety devices and identifies, reports, and addresses safety issues on location.
- Develops, improves, and implements innovative plans, procedures, processes, programs and policies to adequately address system safety issues.
- Advises Operating Leadership teams and gains concurrence to meet regulatory safety compliance and develop best practices to reduce accidents and incidents.
- Initiates investigations and, when applicable, determines root cause analyses and corrective action plans
- Must be able to represent the company and work closely with legal department as the person most knowledgeable, for depositions and court cases.
- Makes recommendations to reduce accidents/incidents and monitors effectiveness of mitigating measures implemented.
- Serves as first contact with any safety and compliance governing body, including but not limited to: Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and California Air Resources Board (CARB)
- Manage, engage, and develop team of direct reports.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in Motorcoach/Transit Inter City Bus Safety
- Experience in the administration of government mandated reporting of safety programs
- Experience with and working knowledge of health and safety standards, rules, and regulations for entities such as, but not limited to: FMCSA/CVSA, and OSHA
- Knowledge of principles and practices of safety administration.
- Proven track record of driving results and continuous improvement in an organization.
- Ability to conduct business with high level of confidentiality.
- Demonstrate ability to provide detailed audit reports, with relevant required preventive and corrective measures.
- Willingness to work varied schedules as needed
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including data entry, database management, and proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Must be able to Travel as the position Requires, approximately 50% travel.

Compensation Range
USD $80,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
