Overview:

HGA is seeking a dynamic and driven Project Coordinator to join our San Jose, CA team. We're looking for someone with exceptional communication, presentation, timemanagement, and interpersonal skills-someone who thrives in a collaborative setting and is passionate about elevating design.

In this role, you'll partner closely with Project Architects, Designers, and Project Managers to help shape innovative, technically sound design solutions. You'll contribute to the development of detailed project documentation while upholding our firm's commitment to design excellence and outstanding client service.

What You'll Do:

    Partner on the development of construction documents and ensure design intent is accurately carried through.

  • Translate complex project goals into creative and functional design solutions.

  • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate architectural and engineering systems.

  • Participate in client meetings and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Partner to meet critical project milestones and deadlines maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality.

In this role you will:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of projects' design philosophy and provides major input in developing a design and building performance strategy, effectively conveying this to assigned team members when appropriate.
  • Provide technical design input and support for the development of the entire design concept. Responsible for a project's technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination and quality control efforts during all phases of project work, in close collaboration with a Project Architect, Senior Designer and Project Manager.
  • Seek creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develops appropriate research and documents to support these solutions.
  • Actively collaborate with and coordinate work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated and support the design concept and performance goals of the project.
  • Contribute to the preparation of design documents and leads the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, delivering complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation.
  • Advance the production of schematic, design development and construction document drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule, cost and design intent.
  • Review and coordinate project documents with relevant Building Codes, City Planning/Zoning ordinances and similar requirements for Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and systems.
  • Review shop drawings, material samples and Construction Documents for conformance with design.
  • Perform construction administration duties (e.g., RFI's, RFP's, change orders, etc.).
  • Maintain contact with clients, consultants and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client and owner presentations as required.

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Interior Design/Interior Architecture program or related field
  • 5 to 7 years of experience working on small- to large-scale project types
  • Experience with TI and core and shell
  • Strong graphic skills
  • Revit knowledge and experience required
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and other industry accepted software as well as expertise with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite products is needed
  • Ability to travel to job sites

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $82,800 - $89,400 depending on qualifications and experience.
