Lead the advancement efforts for the College of Science and Mathematics at Fresno State, driving philanthropic support to enhance student success, faculty research, and community outreach initiatives.

The College of Science and Mathematics prepares future scientists, mathematicians, teachers, health professionals, and researchers to tackle real-world challenges in STEM fields. With over 4,500 student majors, the college offers innovative laboratory research, fieldwork, and community-based learning experiences across seven departments and specialized centers like the STEM Education Center and the Downing Planetarium. Faculty engage in cutting-edge research, resulting in numerous publications and conference presentations each year, focusing on areas such as cancer treatment, biotechnology, cybersecurity, and environmental science. With 108 full-time faculty members securing over $5M annually in grants, the college aims to enhance student success, community outreach, and partnerships through the recruitment of innovative staff and scholars and the establishment of state-of-the-art facilities. Ultimately, the college seeks to serve as a national model for integrating teaching and research in STEM education while leading educational outreach and community service efforts at regional and state levels.

What you will be doing:
As the Director of Development, you will serve as the chief philanthropic strategist for the College of Science and Mathematics, leading comprehensive fundraising efforts that advance the College's most critical priorities. With a strong focus on identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major and principal gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations, you will drive strategic revenue growth and build a robust pipeline of philanthropic investment. In close partnership with the Dean and college leadership, you will shape and execute integrated development and campaign strategies, align fundraising initiatives with academic priorities, and position the College for long-term advancement success.
You will act as a key connector between the College and campus partners, fostering collaboration and ensuring cohesive engagement strategies across units. In addition to managing a portfolio of high-level philanthropic partners and prospects, you will provide strategic leadership to the College's advancement team and support philanthropically focused advisory groups, strengthening volunteer engagement and expanding the College's network of advocates and investors.
Through innovative, relationship-driven fundraising, you will secure transformative support that advances high-quality educational programs across biology, chemistry, computer science, earth and environmental sciences, mathematics, physics, and psychology- strengthening the scientific and mathematical foundation that serves all Fresno State students.
The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is: $92,000- 97,000 based on experience.
