Job Description

General Summary:

The Process Chemistry Principal Scientist is technically self-reliant with an extensive track record of accomplishments and will identify and solve complex problems repeatedly across a number of critical and diverse projects. This role will serve as an emerging technical expert in the field and provide reliable and valuable advice to project teams on a regular basis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs and performs sophisticated, technically challenging experiments, efficiently and independently ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and SOPs
  • Generates effective hypotheses to pursue project goals and sets new experimental direction
  • Identifies broad implications of results and their impact on overall study
  • Develops novel and creative solutions to overcome project obstacles
  • Makes substantive conceptual contributions to project activities and scientific strategies
  • Provides authoritative technical recommendations broadly within the company regarding own discipline and occupies a key or pivotal formal or informal project role
  • Serves as a practical manager of CRO interactions and external collaboration

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability and track record of successfully working in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing and submitting required documentation pertaining to the development and preparation of drug substances under cGMP environment
  • In-depth conceptual knowledge of SOPs and GMPs and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and SOPs.
  • Experience and ability to draft CMC sections of INDs or CTAs is a plus.
  • Experience in writing and transferring developed technology to outside CROs and working with suppliers to solve chemical issues for compound delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain difficult or sensitive technical/scientific information and to prepare presentations and reports

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience or a Master's degree and 7+ years of experience or a PhD and 4-7 years of experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range:

$138,000 - $207,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
