Job Announcement

This position is the Children's Behavioral Health Collaborative Program Manager for Fairfax County, Virginia, a suburban Washington DC jurisdiction with 1.2 million residents, of whom 257,000 are children and youth. Plays a leadership role in the development, management and evaluation of programs to improve access to behavioral health services and the quality of those services for the county's children, youth and families and for leading inter-agency teams to conduct children's behavioral health needs assessments and gap analyses. This position plays a major role implementing and evaluating outcomes for the Countywide Children's Behavioral Health Plan.


Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in social services or human services, or with major course work in a specialty that confers within a community-based service delivery setting (for example, child development and family studies, education, public administration, recreation), or other related field; plus five years of professional experience in the social services, human services, or other community-based service delivery service or setting; two of which included supervising professional staff. A master's degree in an appropriate field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a driving record check, and a Child Protective Services Registry check to the satisfaction of the employer.

This position is considered essential personnel and will be required to report to work during times designated countywide as approved for unscheduled leave regardless of the emergency situation (i.e., weather, transportation, other disaster).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in developing, managing and evaluating children's behavioral health projects or programs.
  • Experience in convening and leading inter-agency teams, including public sector, private sector and family representatives, to conduct needs assessments and gap analyses and/or develop services and programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to travel to meet with the community, visit services recipients, conduct trainings, site reviews and attend meetings off-site. Ability to use automated technology. Visual acuity is required to read data on computer monitor; incumbent must be able to operate keyboard driven equipment. Employee may be required to lift up to 15 lbs. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
