Panel Test Technician - Industrial Controls

Overview:

Egan Company is seeking candidates for an Electrical Test Technician position located in Champlin, MN. The Electrical Test Technician is responsible for testing and quality control of electrical control panels (Power components, PLC's, VFD's, MCC's, etc.), Instrumentation Control Panels, and any other manufactured assemblies.

Shifts are Monday through Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

***You will be working in an air-conditioned warehouse***



Responsibilities:


  • Ensure adherence with various engineering and manufacturing documents including bills of materials, panel layout drawings, electrical schematics that are used to build and wire electrical control panels.



  • Perform continuity and dielectric testing on control panels using multimeters, ohmmeters, or custom testing equipment.



  • Follow company and/or customer testing procedures for final product checkout.



  • Document notes, delays, and issues during the testing process.



  • Assist in 5S activities as required.



  • Identify and assist in Continuous Process Improvement measures.



  • Adhere to all safety and security guidelines applicable to the shop and warehouse.



  • Maintain professionalism with co-workers, customers, sub-contractors, vendors, project managers, office, and field staff.



  • Work in a team environment to accomplish tasks at hand.



  • Other duties as assigned by Management.




Qualifications:


  • Electrical or electronics training, education, or equivalent experience building electrical control panels.



  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics/diagrams.



  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits / electrical components.



  • Knowledge of UL508a requirements preferred.



  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools associated with the job in a safe manner.



  • Highly motivated and ability to multi-task.



  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.



  • Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.



  • Ability to work well with others.




Working Conditions:


  • Frequently bends, twists, squats, and lifts with arms extended.



  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.



  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (alone) or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance (team)

Pay Rate: $23.80 - $38.84 per hour (wage rate/classification as defined in the IBEW Local 292 Minnesota Statewide Agreement).
