Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Application Architect for an onsite position with a Global Financial Institution located in Newark, DE. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. We are seeking an experienced Application Architect to design, guide, and oversee the architecture of critical enterprise applications. This role requires broad technical depth across application frameworks, integration patterns, cloud platforms, and modern development practices. The ideal candidate brings a strong hands-on engineering background and will partner closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and technical leads to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions. Responsibilities: Design, guide, and oversee the architecture of critical enterprise applications Partner with business stakeholders, engineering teams, solution architects, and technical leads Deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions Lead design decisions that align with enterprise strategy and standards Create architecture diagrams, high-level and low-level design documentation, and solution roadmaps Perform architectural reviews, analyze technical debt, and evaluate solution alternatives Requirements: 10+ years in software development and application design 5+ years as an Application Architect, Technical Lead, or similar architecture role Strong hands-on background in Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, and enterprise application frameworks Experience designing and supporting multi-tier and microservices-based architectures, REST APIs, cloud-native applications (AWS/Azure/GCP), and event-driven systems (Kafka, MQ, etc) Solid understanding of application security frameworks (OAuth2, SAML, JWT), scalability, reliability, and performance engineering Experience with relational & NoSQL databases, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) Experience working in Agile/Scrum or SAFe environments Strong familiarity with UML, Git/Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, and Maven/Gradle Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interface with business and executive stakeholders Strong leadership, mentoring, and decision-making abilities Desired skills: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Relevant certifications preferred: Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP Architect), TOGAF, SAFe Architect Experience with application modernization or cloud migration programs Experience with domain-driven design and API-first design and governance Experience in financial services or other regulated industries Ability to drive enterprise-wide architecture standards and influence technical strategy Pay range: $60.24 - $68.24 Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
