Location: Lakewood, Washington (Joint Base Lewis-McChord)

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift

Compensation: $29.99 - $29.99/hour

Tessera is seeking an engaged, dependable, and highly motivated Front Line Section Lead to join our team. This position oversees issue/turnin clerks and ensures all OCIE issue and turnin operations are performed accurately, safely, and with exceptional customer service. The Lead coordinates daily workflows, maintains documentation standards, and supports team performance through coaching, training, and oversight.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily leadership and guidance to issue/turnin clerks, ensuring proper issuing, turning in, exchanging, classifying, and sorting of OCIE items.
  • Monitor work quality, maintain cleanliness and prioritization standards, and ensure exceptional customer service by supporting staff and resolving customer questions or concerns.
  • Train employees on procedures, documentation requirements, and workflow expectations while reviewing completed work for accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate OCIE records, support annual inventory, and ensure adequate equipment levels to meet projected demand.
  • Complete required supervisory documentation, including performance evaluations, disciplinary or corrective actions, and NISH evaluations.
  • Coach, mentor, and address employee concerns; monitor performance, conduct, attendance, and efficiency, documenting issues as required.
  • Track daily attendance, absences, and tardiness, ensuring proper reporting on designated company forms.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years in retail or warehouse operations, with supervisory experience strongly preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of supply management procedures, warehouse operations, and cargo distribution.
  • Demonstrated team leadership or collaborative management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret productivity and quality reports.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
