Job Overview

The Vice President of Radiology provides strategic, operational, and clinical support leadership for all imaging services across the system of care. This role partners closely with senior leadership and medical staff to ensure high-quality, patient-centered and financially sustainable imaging services. This role is accountable for the performance, quality, and growth of imaging services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops vision for imaging services and ensures alignment with system mission, vision, and strategy.

  • Develops strategic plans, annual goals, and performance metrics to drive quality outcomes and best practices in imaging services.

  • Oversees all aspects of imaging operations, including centralized scheduling, pre-authorization, and revenue cycle processes. Evaluates growth opportunities, new service lines, and partnerships.

  • Ensures standardized imaging protocols, evidence-based utilization management, and consistent quality and safety practices across the system. Partners with senior leadership on system-wide initiatives affecting imaging services.

  • Creates organizational design for Radiology teams. Develops, implements, and maintains departments and services to meet service delivery needs. Handles operational and customer service escalations.

  • Participates in leadership activities for the system, contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives. Serves as a champion of organizational culture, influencing culture change to support strategic initiatives.

  • Develops and implements broad operational policies; serves as executive sponsor on major projects. Provides advice and guidance to senior leadership on the operational impact of strategic initiatives.

  • Manages communications to the system on vision, strategy, and projects that have significant impact. Provides regular updates to executive leadership on key performance metrics, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with executives and medical providers across the system to drive performance. Fosters strong, collaborative relationships with providers to support clinical excellence and operational alignment.

  • Assigns and reviews annual goals and strategic goals, provides work instruction and develops leaders and staff. Evaluates performance and provides continuous feedback. Manages discipline and performance issues, hires and fires leaders. Champions workforce planning and talent pipelines and pathways initiatives with leaders and teams. Reviews and approves staffing and resource plans for Radiology departments and teams.

  • Carries overall financial management responsibility for imaging services, to include short- and long-term capital planning and asset management.

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards as well as organizational policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or other related field.

    • Master's degree preferred.

  • EXPERIENCE - Six (6) years of leadership experience in radiology or healthcare operations, within a complex multi-site health system.

  • EQUIVALENCY - Four (4) years of experience, beyond stated requirements, may substitute for the bachelor's degree.

  • LICENSURE -

    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R)

    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Hiring Range: $211,000 - $275,00
