Sr. Security Engineer I - Identity Access Management

As part of CDW's Global Information Security organization, you will help shape how modern identity security is embedded across the enterprise-partnering across infrastructure, engineering, platforms, and business teams to reduce risk while enabling secure access at scale.

As a Senior Security Engineer - Identity & Microsoft Entra, you will serve as a hands-on engineer and trusted partner helping strengthen identity security across the enterprise. You will bring deep Microsoft Entra experience and strong technical expertise in access control, authentication, identity governance, and Zero Trust principles while helping teams adopt scalable patterns, controls, and guardrails for secure access.

This role is ideal for someone who can move fluidly between engineering execution and cross-functional partnership-driving technical outcomes, building trust through collaboration, and improving how identity security is delivered at scale. What you will do:

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise identity and access management capabilities using Microsoft Entra as a core platform.
  • Build and strengthen identity security controls, including Conditional Access, multifactor authentication, Identity Protection, access governance, Access Reviews, Lifecycle Workflows, and privileged access integrations.
  • Advance authentication modernization efforts through Entra integrations, federation, passwordless authentication, and Zero Trust access patterns.
  • Develop PowerShell automation to improve provisioning, deprovisioning, governance, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner across infrastructure, engineering, platform, and business teams to design secure, scalable access models using role-based access control and identity-based controls.
  • Contribute to the evolution of enterprise identity security practices, operational maturity, and control effectiveness, including identity governance and privileged access management.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and peers where appropriate.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience in identity and access management, identity security, or a closely related security engineering discipline, OR
  • 9 years of experience in identity and access management, identity security, or a closely related security engineering discipline.
  • Proven, hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Entra in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong identity security expertise, including Conditional Access, multifactor authentication, federation, passwordless authentication, identity governance, Access Reviews, Lifecycle Workflows, role-based access control, and privileged access concepts.
  • Strong PowerShell automation skills for identity lifecycle management, access governance, and operational improvement.
  • Experience with Entra ID Governance, SailPoint, or similar identity governance platforms.
  • Working knowledge of cloud identity and access management concepts, including SAML 2.0, RBAC, access packages, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), privileged access management (PAM), and modern authentication controls.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for building secure, scalable identity solutions aligned to Zero Trust principles.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours work is required.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, CyberArk, Azure DevOps, and ServiceNow, a plus.
  • Experience with modern engineering practices, including Agile, DevOps, secure engineering, and automation, a plus.
  • Experience with CyberArk or Delinea PAM solutions, a plus.

Pay range: $106,000 - 151,400 depending on experience and skill set.
Annual bonus target 5% subject to terms and conditions of plan.
