As a member of Bio-Rad's Life Science R&D group, you'll work closely with project teams to evaluate key performance metrics of existing products and those under development. This will require close coordination with engineering teams on prototype hardware, software teams on embedded systems and our marketing partners on features and applications. You'll communicate results to the rest of the project team and work closely with others to investigate and troubleshoot issues found during testing. Your scientific expertise will influence product design, and will ensure alignment with customer requirements. Through this work, you'll develop a deep understanding of the product development process, and learn how to succeed in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Contribute to the development and testing of hardware and consumable products that advance healthcare research and treatments, leading to better outcomes and quality of life for millions.
  • Ensure products under development meet customer requirements by designing and implementing test protocols, then communicating results to the project team.
  • Apply your scientific expertise to develop cost-effective, reliable, and high-quality systems that satisfy customer needs and business requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other Life Science group members to ensure high-quality product design.


What You Bring:



  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accredited university in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline.
  • Eligible candidates must be rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students who intend to return to their academic program the following academic year. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
  • Comfortable in a laboratory environment with good hands-on skills.
  • Good analytic abilities, leveraging solid scientific knowledge and critical thinking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A healthy curiosity regarding scientific product development.


Location: This position must be based in Hercules, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The hourly range for this position is $25 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
