Cloud Migration Engineer (Atlassian & Multi-Cloud)

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Cloud Migration Engineer (Atlassian & Multi-Cloud) for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ and Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

We are looking for a Cloud Migration Specialist to lead the end-to-end migration of Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) from legacy environments to Atlassian Cloud or self-hosted cloud environments. You will architect and execute migration strategies that leverage both AWS and Azure infrastructure, ensuring data integrity, security compliance, and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the assessment, planning, and execution of migrating Jira (Software/Service Management) and Confluence from Server/Data Center to Cloud
• Design and maintain the supporting infrastructure on AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery protocols are in place
• Utilize Atlassian Migration Assistants (JCMA/CCMA) and develop custom scripts (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to automate data transfer and cleanup
• Integrate and configure Single Sign-On (SSO) and User Provisioning using Azure Entra ID (formerly AD) or AWS IAM
• Use tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to provision and manage cloud resources consistently across environments
• Ensure all migrated data meets organizational security standards, including encryption at rest and in transit
• Conduct performance tuning and troubleshoot post-migration issues related to apps, plugins, and custom workflows

Requirements:

• Deep, hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53) and Azure (Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, App Services)
• 4+ years managing Jira and Confluence at an admin level, with at least 2 major enterprise-scale migrations completed
• Expert knowledge of Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA), Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA), and manual database migration techniques
• Proficiency in Python or SQL for data mapping, cleanup, and transformation during the migration process

Desired skills:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a significant plus for managing hybrid environments
• Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) or cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect / Azure Administrator)

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
