POSITION REPORTS TO:

Transportation Operations Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW

Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload material and move them to and from storage areas, and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regular and predictable attendance

  • Knowledge of all general plant safety rules and absolutes

  • Obtains copy of shipping order and transports material to and from designated areas in the warehouse

  • Loading and unloading goods

  • Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates or loose rolls around the warehouse

  • Stacking goods in the correct storage, following inventory control instructions

  • Checking loads are secure

  • Stacking empty pallets

  • Performing daily equipment checks

  • Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

  • High degree of attentionrequiredto prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment

  • Follow instructions foroperatingequipment and keeping records

  • Execute assignments inan accurate,timelyand safe manner

  • Maintain a clean & safe environment

  • May berequiredto use RF scanner gun

  • Forklift certification per OSHA standards

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

  • Forklift experience

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient with numbers

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME

  • Onsite training to receive inhouse forklift license - 8 hours

MACHINES,TOOLSAND EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Lift trucks

  • Wandingguns

  • Portable strapping machine

  • Lockout devices

  • Trailer chocks

  • Drum attachments

PERSONAL PROTECTIVEEQUIPMENT USED:

  • Leather gloves when handle wooden pallets

  • Steel Toe Safety Shoes

  • Safety Glasses

1. Standing:Ability to stand while working 30% of day

  1. Ascending/Descending:Ability to walk upstairs,climb to top of range

(approx. 16 ft) 2% of day

  1. Push/Pull/Reach: 3% of day

  1. Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor 5% of day

  1. Visual Acuity:Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties,

including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. 100% of day

9. Cognitive:Alert.Ableto make decisions, reason, and understand

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This joboperatesin a manufacturing facility.This positionis a safety-sensitive position andregularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noiselevel isgenerally loud.Temperaturescan bemore than 100 degrees Fahrenheit.Humiditylevel can bemore than 98%for100% ofday.

SHIFT/WORK HOURS

Shift schedule will depend on open positions at time of hireand will be communicated with new hire paperwork. Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands.

  • 1st Shift: 6AM -until the work is completed

  • 2ndshift: 4PM - until the work is completed
