In support of the business strategy the Sourcing Specialist will maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify new suppliers who bring value to the organization. The Sourcing Specialist's responsibilities include sourcing goods, materials, and services at competitive prices and advising upper-level staff members on which suppliers to contract with. Requirements for this position also include supporting project teams for new product development, cost improvement and existing product enhancements. They work closely with suppliers, supply planning, marketing, engineering and customer service to ensure suppliers meet the needs of the organization. Sourcing Specialist should be able to develop and implement innovative ideas to enhance sourcing strategies.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

60% Strategic



  • Manage and lead supplier relationships.
  • Oversee category spend of $15M>.
  • Ensure suppliers meet timelines expected for New Product development projects.
  • Lead/Own contract and price negotiations with assigned suppliers.
  • Source new suppliers for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Meet or exceed 3% cost reduction year over year with assigned suppliers.


40% Tactical



  • SAP administration including: price changes and pricing for new items; vendor info; source list management; lead times & MOQ's.
  • Work with AP and suppliers to reconcile accounts payable.
  • Coordinate pre-payments and payments to stay under credit limits.
  • Work with suppliers to extend payment terms.
  • Maintain the calendar for critical sourcing dates such as contract renewals/expirations.
  • Work with Quality on supplier non-conformance.
  • Support teams with Requests for Quotes and Requests for Information.
  • Assist Marketing with bringing product to market.
  • Work with planning department to meet production requirements.
  • SPX - Database for specifications and supplier information
  • Reconcile monthly financial reports.
  • Prepare presentations.
  • Maintain Sourcing SharePoint.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Profile


  • Role not eligible for sponsorship.


  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field OR Associate's degree plus 5 years related experience required.
  • One or more years of sourcing/supply chain experience and/or one or more years experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • SAP strongly preferred.
  • Travel required 10% - Maintain current supplier relationships and review potential new supplier sources.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role which requires in-office work Tuesday through Thursday and remote work on Monday and Friday.
