Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP WM/MM Functional Lead with deep expertise in SAP ECC Warehouse Management (WM)and Materials Management (MM). This individual will serve as the organization's subject matter expert for warehouse management processes and SAP WM configuration, leading complex implementations, enhancements, integrations, and production support activities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on SAP functional expert who has personally configured SAP WM solutions, led multiple end-to-end implementations, and can translate business requirements into scalable warehouse and inventory management solutions. This role requires strong functional design capabilities, cross-functional integration expertise, and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders to drive solution delivery.

This position is onsite hybrid in Grafton, WI.

Key Responsibilities

SAP WM Solution Design & Configuration

  • Lead the design, configuration, testing, deployment, and support of SAP ECC Warehouse Management (WM) solutions.
  • Configure and support:
    • Warehouses
    • Storage Types
    • Storage Sections
    • Storage Bins
    • Putaway Strategies
    • Picking Strategies
    • Transfer Orders
    • Inventory Management Processes
    • Physical Inventory and Cycle Counting
  • Design warehouse solutions supporting receiving, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control processes.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional SAP WM/MM solutions.
  • Lead configuration workshops and business process design sessions.

Implementation Leadership

  • Lead and participate in full lifecycle SAP ECC WM/MM implementations from requirements gathering through go-live and hyper care support.
  • Drive solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, documentation, and user enablement activities.
  • Develop detailed effort estimates and implementation plans.
  • Support proof-of-concept activities and solution demonstrations.

Functional Design & Development Support

  • Develop functional specifications for:
    • Custom programs
    • Interfaces
    • Reports
    • Enhancements
    • User Exits
    • BADIs
    • BAPIs
  • Partner closely with ABAP development teams throughout design and testing cycles.
  • Support defect analysis and issue resolution activities.

Integration Management

  • Design and support integrations between SAP WM and:
    • Materials Management (MM)
    • Sales & Distribution (SD)
    • Production Planning (PP)
    • Logistics Execution (LE)
  • Support inbound and outbound interfaces using EDI, IDOCs, and other integration methods.
  • Troubleshoot cross-functional process and integration issues.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work directly with warehouse operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and business leadership teams.
  • Facilitate business process workshops and requirements gathering sessions.
  • Provide consulting recommendations aligned with industry best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with business users, project teams, and executive stakeholders.

Production Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Resolve complex production issues and system defects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse and inventory management processes.
  • Support ongoing SAP SCM optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities across onsite and offshore support resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of SAP ECC WM/MM functional consulting experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP Warehouse Management (WM) configuration experience.
  • Minimum three full lifecycle SAP ECC WM implementations where you personally performed system configuration.
  • Proven experience configuring:
    • Warehouses
    • Storage Types
    • Storage Sections
    • Storage Bins
    • Put away Strategies
    • Picking Strategies
    • Transfer Orders
    • Physical Inventory
    • Cycle Counting
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including receiving, put away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Deep understanding of integration points between WM, MM, SD, and PP.
  • Experience creating functional specifications for SAP custom development and enhancements.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently lead workshops, collect requirements, and drive solution decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience reading and analyzing ABAP code.
  • Experience leading SAP implementation projects.
  • Manufacturing industry experience, preferably in discrete manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting North American warehouse and distribution operations.
  • SAP WM Lead or Solution Architect experience.

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of SAP ECC WM configuration rather than end-user or super-user experience.

  • Operate as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership.
  • Drive workstreams from requirements through deployment and support.
