Candidates who can contribute to that goal are encouraged to identify their strengths or experiences in this area. *** Dean for Instructional Excellence~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This posting will close on: 05/08/2026**No further applications will be accepted on or after this date** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Primary Functions: Serves as the College's primary expert on Online Learning trends, best-practice pedagogy, and provides operational leadership for faculty development and quality assurance for instructional excellence across all course modalities, with special emphasis on online modalities. Participate as an effective member of the Academic and Student Affairs team. Responsibilities: Work with the Academic and Student Affairs team to:
Organizational Relationships: (1) Responsible to the Vice Provost, Academic Affairs for performance of assigned responsibilities. (2) Coordinates with academic deans to ensure alignment of priorities. (3) Develops collaborative relationships with faculty members. (4) Manages staff as appropriate. (5)Relates role to College goals and mission attainment. Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within a specified time frame, (2) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives, (3) effective cooperative relationships exist with the other members of the administrative team. Qualifications: (1) Education: Masters or doctorate in an appropriate discipline a degree from an institution of higher education recognized by an institutional accreditor approved by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE). (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: (a) record of teaching excellence in high education; (b) proficiency in using LMS to deliver high impact teaching strategies and knowledge of instructional design principles; (c) track-record of developing and implementing professional development offerings; (d) strong commitment to quality academic experiences for students; (e) ability to assess and evaluate programs and offerings with an eye to improvement and effectiveness; (f) skill at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and projects; (g) ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and communities (h) proven success managing successful teams. (3) Experience: (a) 3 years faculty experience, preferably at a community college; (b) 3 years of people management experience in higher education or a related field as an administrator with a documented record of success (c) demonstrated competence to serve in an administrative capacity.
