The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Summary: The Dean at RWJBarnabas Health School of Nursing provides operational and financial oversight for the School. This role is responsible for leadership, management, development, and advancement of the school's academic and clinical programs, driving high standards of quality in nursing education, fostering an environment of continuous improvement, and ensuring the school's compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies. This year-round role is based in Elizabeth, New Jersey, with travel expected weekly to our Oceanport, New Jersey campus. Qualifications:
Job Responsibilities: The Dean will plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the educational program in accordance with NJ Board of Nursing requirements and aligns the program philosophy and outcomes, professional standards, and standards of accrediting agency for nursing education. This role oversees the day-to-day operation of the school and student activities in accordance with state requirements, professional standards, and standards of accrediting agency for nursing education. They will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the school budget according to program needs and governing institution's guidelines. The Dean supervises and evaluates the ongoing performance of staff and faculty who report to them, and completes their annual performance evaluations. This role reviews, updates, and maintains annual contracts with affiliating agencies and institutions for students' clinical experiences. Each year, the Dean will develop annual reports to the New Jersey State Board of Nursing, the NLN, NCSBN, the school's accrediting agency (ACEN) and the School of Nursing's governing body. Finally, the role includes analyzing and responding to data collection related to school operations, including, but not limited to, faculty retention and professional activities, student retention/attrition, NCLEX-RN results, program completion rates, graduate/employer surveys, student and graduate satisfaction, and additional program outcomes identified by communities of interest. Other duties to support the operational success of the School of Nursing may be required.
