Summary
Responsible for carrying out set plans and leading department activities such as huddles and coordination of labor during their shift to ensure all hospital areas are safe, orderly, and in sanitary condition in the absence of the supervisor.

Essential Functions
Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, floors, offices, conference rooms, equipment, furniture, common areas, and waiting rooms following hospital-approved infection prevention standards.
Performs high-level cleaning in specialized areas such as clinical areas, surgical suites, cath lab, specialty rooms, and sterile areas without direct supervision.
Serves as a resource for external and internal department team members on environmental services matters.
Provides input on department processes and training materials, and offers suggestions for improvement.
Collaborates with multiple departments to ensure patient and department priorities are met day-to-day, resulting in the safest outcomes for patients and customers.
Uses proper personal protective equipment and cleaning procedures specific to infectious elements in isolation rooms; ensures environmental services team members maintain proper infection control cleaning standards at all times, including hand hygiene requirements.
Understands and uses proper hospital-approved chemicals and disinfectants and follows dwell times for each task performed and product used.
Understands how to handle various types of waste, including regular, recycling, hazardous, chemo, regulated medical waste, pharmaceutical, and radioactive.

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Pest Control Technician [Massachusetts License] - Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources, Pesticide Program preferred

Experience
Experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports hospital mission, vision, values statements, standards, policies and procedures, confidentiality, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and ethical behavior.
- Collaborates with multiple disciplines to effectively and efficiently provide patient care and achieve the desired patient outcome.
- Applies critical thinking to assess, plan, and implement day-to-day operations, and communicates updates to team members knowledge of health and sanitation standards, physical stamina, ability to operate heavy machines, familiarity with industrial cleaners and chemicals, and the willpower to work effectively with various populations.

3pm to 11:30pm, rotating weekends/Holidays
