Mott MacDonald is looking for professionals to join our ever-expanding transportation team here in the Western New York area. We are currently looking for a Construction Inspector I/II interested in highway, bridge, and other related transportation construction projects. The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of construction industry standards and practices in the transportation sector and be interested in acquiring experience and expertise on large scale highway and bridge construction projects. The successful candidate will: Haveinterestina diverse range ofconstructionprojectsincluding but not limited tobridge, highway, culvert,andrelatedtransportation improvementprojects. Bedetail oriented anddemonstratethe abilityto manage multiple tasksat a time. Possessappropriatelevelofeducation and/orexperience. Have valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed. Description of Duties: Candidate will report tosenior level inspection staff andassistwithmonitoring ofdaily construction activities, trackingand reportingquantity usage, and preparingdailyworkreportsas needed. Verify conformance of materials supplied bycontractorwith standard specificationsand contract documents. Interpret construction drawings and specifications on projects as needed. Must be willing toworkweekends and/orweeknightsas necessary. Candidate Qualifications: 0-5yearsinspection experiencerelated to highway and bridge construction includingNewYork State Department of Transportation,NewYork State Thruway Authority,and/orlocally-administeredFederal-Aid projects. Proficiencyincollecting data,interpreting plans,conducting field measurements,performing calculations,and documentingwork performed bycontractor. Proficiencywith standard softwareapplicationsand ability to learnnewprograms. Associates Degree in Civil Engineering/TechnologyorBachelor Degree in Civil Engineering/Technology. Good organizational andinterpersonalcommunication skills. Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills. The expected salary for this position is $55,000 - $67,000.
