Mechanic Assembly Technician

Messer operates a world class fleet equipment upfitting and refurbishment center in beautiful Chattanooga, TN. Due to continued growth at the facility, the position of Mechanic Assembly Technician is currently open.

Principal Responsibilities:

This position works in the main trailer refurbishment shop to perform final assembly duties on refurbished trailers. Workstreams in the final assembly process include:

• Hydraulic assembly

• Electrical wiring and assembly

• Mechanical assembly

• Decaling

• Systems testing and quality control documentation

Required Skills:

• Site works a 45 hour week minimum, per DOT guidelines. Willing to work nights and weekends on an as needed basis
• A strong mechanical aptitude, with a high degree of pride in craftsmanship
• Own set of basic maintenance/technician tools

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Demonstrated ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a fabricator, mechanic, electrician, or other trade a plus

• Prior vehicle technician experience a plus

• Familiarity with commercial vehicle systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, wiring, etc.) a plus

• Ability to weld a plus, but not required
