Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:



  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field required.
  • One year of mental health psychotherapy experience.
  • Professional licensure is preferred, including:


    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Schedule: Fee for Service; Daytime hours, Monday-Friday


Earn $28-$40/hour depending on experience and licensure.


Position Details


The Outpatient Mental Health Therapist provides comprehensive clinical services to individuals in an outpatient setting, including intake evaluations, diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing therapy. This role collaborates closely with clients, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure individualized, compliant, and effective care in accordance with Merakey, DPW, and DOH policies and regulations.


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct intake services by evaluating incoming referrals to determine clinical appropriateness and recommended treatment interventions.
  • Complete diagnostic assessments, case histories, and related clinical documentation in compliance with Merakey, DPW, and DOH standards.
  • Develop preliminary treatment plans by the second counseling session and comprehensive Master Treatment Plans by the fourth session.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify individualized treatment issues, short- and long-term goals, and appropriate service types and frequencies.
  • Review, revise, and update treatment plans every 60 days, ensuring all plans are reviewed and signed by the client, therapist, clinical supervisor, and psychiatrist or supervisory physician.
  • Provide ongoing individual therapy and supportive counseling services to assigned caseload.
  • Participate in regular clinical consultations with supervisors and interdisciplinary staff, including required case consults for D&A clients at least every 90 days during the first year and annually thereafter.
