The Labor & Birth (L&B) Nurse Manager provides operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for assigned patient care areas, ensuring safe, highquality pre and postoperative nursing care in accordance with professional standards of practice, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. In collaboration with Medical Staff Leadership and departmental leaders, this role supports program development, operational improvements, and positive physician partnerships while maintaining effective communication and alignment with departmental goals. The Nurse Manager operates within established budgetary parameters, participates in annual budget development, manages staffing and resources responsibly, and monitors financial performance to ensure a safe patient environment. This role provides clinical supervision, performance management, and professional development for nursing and support staff, fosters a culture of safety and engagement, and performs all responsibilities in alignment with the organization's mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details:

Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing required; BSN, related BS and/or MS preferred.
Licensure: Current licensure by the applicable state of practice Board of Nursing
Experience: Four (4) years of experience in clinical specialty or related area (preferred). Able to apply principles of management, co-worker supervision, teach, performance improvement, and budget (required). Basic computer skills including data entry, Windows, and MS Office (required).
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support through an American Heart Association approved program.
