Job Summary

The Design Architect is responsible for developing, coordinating, and reviewing architectural designs to support project planning, permitting, and construction execution. This role ensures that designs meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and project specifications while maintaining alignment with schedule, budget, and constructability requirements.

The Design Architect works closely with project managers, engineers, estimators, and field teams to ensure design deliverables are accurate, compliant, and ready for construction.

Essential Job Functions:

* Develop architectural concepts, layouts, and detailed design drawings for construction projects

* Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and design packages

* Ensure designs meet applicable building codes, zoning requirements, and regulatory standards

* Coordinate design development from concept through final construction documents

* Support permitting and regulatory approval processes

* Collaborate with engineers, project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure design alignment with project scope and schedule

* Participate in project planning and design review meetings

* Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and external design partners

* Review drawings for constructability, completeness, and accuracy

* Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to design

* Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations

* Maintain adherence to company design standards and quality requirements

* Support inspections, plan reviews, and permitting processes

* Identify design conflicts and implement corrective solutions

* Maintain organized records of design revisions, approvals, and project documentation

* Track design deliverables and deadlines

* Support change management and design modifications during construction

* Provide updates to project leadership on design progress and issues

Required Skills and Abilities:

* Bachelor's degree in Architecture

* 3-7 years of architectural design experience

* Proficiency in design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)

* Strong understanding of building codes and construction documentation

* Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams

* Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

* Professional licensure as a Registered Architect (RA)

* Experience supporting construction or design-build projects

* Familiarity with permitting and regulatory processes

* Experience working on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
