Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our growing team in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This is an opportunity to work on a steady pipeline of local site development and infrastructure projects, with minimal travel and consistent year-round work.

Responsibilities

    Perform field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Operate field equipment such as nuclear density gauges and other testing tools
  • Document daily field activities, test results, and observations through clear and accurate reporting
  • Review and interpret construction plans and specifications to support inspection activities
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, contractors, and project teams to maintain project quality and progress
  • Maintain and calibrate field equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Travel locally to job sites using company-provided vehicles

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of construction inspection and/or materials testing experience
  • Experience working with soil, concrete, asphalt, or similar materials
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and project specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate field documentation
  • Valid driver's license required
  • At least one of the following certifications required: ACI, ICC, or Nuclear Density Gauge
