Driver

Windsor Laurelwood is seeking a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver to provide essential transportation support for our patients during their healing journey. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring patients travel safely and comfortably to and from appointments, group sessions, and other necessary destinations.

As aPatient Transporter, you will:

  • Skill Development:Gain experience in patient support, time management, and maintaining a safe and professional environment.
  • Collaborative Work Environment:Work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to provide the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Transportation: Safely transport patients to and from appointments, programming, and other destinations
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, facility policies, and safety protocols during transport
  • Patient Support: Interact with patients in a respectful, compassionate, and professional manner
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and ready for use
  • Mobility Assistance: Assist patients with entering/exiting vehicles, including wheelchair support as needed
  • Communication: Coordinate schedules with staff and report any concerns or delays promptly

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • No more than 1 major violation such as DUI's, at-fault accidents within the last 7 years.
  • Ability to read a map and use GPS navigation
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and assist with patient transport
  • Ability to push and maneuver wheelchairs and lift/carry up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous commercial or medical transportation experience
  • Experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
  • Knowledge of patient safety and confidentiality standards.
  • A driver with reliable transportation to and from work.
