Summary

This role manages global licensing programs to unlock new revenue streams and reinforce brand equity across markets and categories. It develops licensing strategies that align with brand identity, market positioning, and long-term growth objectives. Oversees contract negotiation, royalty structures, and compliance monitoring to ensure adherence to licensing agreements and protection of IP rights. Implements governance frameworks, and performance metrics to maintain brand consistency and quality across licensed products. The role serves as the COE for Licensing, collaborates with legal, marketing, and product teams to evaluate opportunities, mitigate risk, and drive innovation through brand extensions and co-branded initiatives. Champions licensing as a growth lever, enabling brand expansion, market diversification, and long-term value creation through trusted Licensee partners.

Responsibilities



  • Identifies & evaluates licensing opportunities: Conducts research and structured analysis to evaluate opportunities and guide decision-making. Their work ensures that licensing initiatives are executed effectively and contribute meaningfully to financial and strategic objectives.



  • Negotiates license agreements & royalty terms: Leads contract negotiates, defining terms with partners to ensure alignment with Hershey's standards, financial requirements, and brand guidelines.



  • Oversees contract compliance & audits: Assesses risks, interprets requirements, and ensures documentation adheres to licensing processes and protocols to protect brand assets and maintain strong, compliant relationships with licensing partners.



  • Collaborates with legal & marketing on IP usage: Guides partners through the approval lifecycle and ensures all materials meet trademark, design, and brand expectations. Responsible for setting the standard for the evaluation of submissions on compliance, accuracy, and alignment with category positioning. This governance ensures consistent execution and protects Hershey's brand integrity across licensed products.



  • Monitors royalty streams & financial performance: Stewards obtaining and assessing data related to royalty performance, category growth, and partner execution. Identifies trends, gaps, and opportunities to optimize licensing outcomes. Their recommendations support continuous improvement and enable smarter decision-making across the licensing portfolio.



Aditional responsibilities


  • High influence across DCS, Brand Marketing, Consumer Connections, Procurement, Legal, and Executive forums.
  • Acts as strategic advisor for Licensing atrategy and longterm partner relationships; influencer on partner selection . Needs to know the industry and how to navigate it, including relationship and risk management.



Qualifications



  • Expertise in IP licensing
  • Strong strategic framing and ability to connect brand objectives to commercial outcomes
  • Advanced contract and negotiation acumen focused on value creation
  • Influence and crossfunctional leadership without direct authority
  • Strong risk assessment, governance, and partner evaluation capabilities



Education & Experience



  • Experience: 8+ years in licensing, or adjacent roles within CPG, entertainment, or cultureled industries
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Other: Experience working with licensing agents, and international markets
