Position Highlights

This position provides outreach and recruitment to Universities, Community Colleges, and health service and education community partners throughout the state; builds strong collaborations with partners and students. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: increasing enrollment and applications to all our institutional health sciences and related programs by producing high numbers of competitive and academically rigorous applicants to each program, supports and regularly meets with all students and completes mandatory reporting and builds/maintains/extends partnerships across the state with different institutions and organizations affiliated with the office.

This position requires evening, weekend work and travel.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinating and implementing evidence-based recruitment and outreach activities along with overseeing student success through advising, training, and support.
  • Promotes and recruits students into all of health sciences and health professions programs; produces high numbers of competitive and academically rigorous applicants to each program (at least double the designated amount);
  • Participating in university-wide recruitment activities and providing information about the health related programs to prospective students to increase enrollment in all health professions and health sciences programs.
  • Facilitating and/or creating related workshops, presentations and recruitment events on various campuses throughout Arizona.
  • Working with on-line platforms and developing virtual recruitment strategies, and digital experience for students engagement and success.
  • Partner closely with various colleges and programs to best share advice and resources with students from all majors who are interested in careers in health sciences and health care (including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and public health as well as the full range of health professions).
  • Builds and maintains partnerships/subawards through our grant with community colleges, universities and healthcare/community organizations (i.e. MCC, NAU, AZ AHEC's etc.) across the state.
  • Maintains records of activities and meetings: The records are kept through Redcap after each student check in (retention piece to see if the student is still on their career path or if they have shifted and includes updating grant information as needed). This is tied to the deliverables as well as ensuring working with the evaluator during recruitment season to achieve appropriate goal of student awards.
  • Prepare and present annual report that highlights recruitment and retention efforts throughout the year. Activities are the recruitment/retention events and efforts they do.
  • Works with campus, community and state partners to provide information about opportunities for health professions pre-admission, and broad support for students.
  • Oversees student success through advising, training, and supporting participants, and conducting outreach activities throughout Arizona, specifically with our partners.
  • Works directly and regularly with health science and pre-health students to support completion of training programs by: providing academic and social support and connecting them with resources that support their success, including financial information and mental health counseling.
  • Ensures each student is meeting the requirements of their funding by meeting with each of the current cohorts every semester
  • Maintaining records of activities, meetings and develops reports addressing the respective program deliverables.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
