About the Role:

This position serves as the primary Finance business partner to Subway's Marketing and Field Activation Fund (FAF) organizations. The Sr. Manager, Finance - Marketing is responsible for managing the end-to-end financial planning, analysis, and reporting for Marketing's global spend portfolio - including media, agency fees, digital/social, and consumer promotions.

The role leads the annual budgeting and forecasting process for Marketing, provides in-depth ROMI and campaign performance analysis, and ensures strong governance over FAF fund accounting and reporting. This role manages a small Finance team and requires an influential communicator capable of translating complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead the end-to-end annual budgeting and quarterly/monthly forecasting process for the Marketing organization, including global media, agency, digital/social, consumer promotions, and FAF-funded spend; ensure alignment with overall corporate financial targets.
  • Deliver monthly variance analysis and management reporting comparing Marketing actual spend to budget/forecast; identify drivers of variance and provide clear commentary and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Oversee Field Activation Fund (FAF) financial management - including fund accounting, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting - ensuring transparency and governance of FAF receipts, commitments, and disbursements across all markets.
  • Partner with Marketing leadership and agency/media teams to develop ROMI frameworks; track campaign-level performance, analyze spend efficiency, and provide actionable insights to optimize channel allocation.
  • Build and maintain Marketing finance dashboards and reporting tools (OneStream, Alteryx, Tableau) to enable self-service analytics and improve visibility into spend performance.
  • Manage and develop a small Finance team supporting Marketing; set performance objectives, provide coaching and development, and foster a high-performance culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Additional responsibilities may apply due to country, location, or department differences.

Qualifications (some examples listed below):

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related business field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-8+ years of relevant FP&A or finance business partnering experience, with 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Proven track record in financial analysis and reporting, with experience supporting a Marketing, brand, or consumer-facing business unit.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop direct reports; experience leading a small team in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing finance concepts - including media spend management, agency billing structures, ROMI measurement, and consumer promotion accounting.
  • Experience with FAF or cooperative advertising fund management is a strong plus.
  • Experience with FP&A tools and advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; strong preference for expertise in OneStream, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, and VBA.
  • Understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and internal controls as they relate to Marketing expenditures and cooperative fund compliance.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; proven ability to synthesize complex financial information into executive-ready narratives.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively across Finance and Marketing teams.
  • Experience in a Food & Beverage or QSR setting is an added advantage.
